I don’t know the exact size of the balloon, but it would have required something like 50 pounds of helium to just be able to get off the ground with the kid inside, anyone who is interested in science would know this.

It had plenty of helium to lift the boy off at a density altitude of 5,500 ft, contrary to my initial take on that matter. Volume/lift calculations confirm repeatedly.
