A friend has one and she never had to train it....in the late afternoon it goes out and herds all the chickens into the coop. She just has to shut the door...Watched them work herds of sheep, and awesome animal......

Always two Border Collies on my aunt's farm when I was growing up, but they were working dogs and were not treated as pets.
Beautiful and highly intelligent animals.
