I say move to Svalbard, where they have that Doomsday seed vault. LOL! I dare any government-educated lefty to find THAT one on a map! They can’t even find all 50 states half the time...
“but you still have to think of the other India.”
No I don’t. No more than I think about Detroit.
True, but if you live in say, Bloomfield Hills, you don’t have to worry about the beggers and street children evertime you go out in public, as they are segregated in Detroit city proper.
I will stay and fight..... and we WILL win.
I have my bride of over 38 wonderful years, 2 grown children, 7 grandchildren—soon to be 8, 26 chickens and my faithful dog.
To me, all of that, including our constitution, freedoms and liberty is worth fighting for..... and in all seriousness, it’s worth killing for.... and need be, dying for.
I do not like seeing my country deteriorate to a point where her citizens must take such a drastic stand/action, and I pray we don’t have to go there. But if we must, let it be in my lifetime, so that my children and grandchildren may live in freedom.
If I were to move, it would be to the hill country in Texas.
Oh, and there is one more reason to stay and fight..... I want to see the bastards that are causing this, brought to justice and sent to hell.
Had our forefathers given up and left this country, we wouldn’t be having this chat.
I completely agree with you.
But...
Instead of running off to another country that will have the same problems as this one, we are going to have to either smash the collectivists and the idiots who vote for them OR separate from them and create our own nation and union of free states.
While revenge and the tingly warm feeling that exacting it gives me is an almost irresistible lure, I would rather not have to “smash” any group of people if I didn’t have to, just because of the issues it would cause down the road when you have to live with those same people. I prefer to just separate from the idiots and tyrants thus removing ourselves from their purview and radius of influence. If, after an attempt at peaceful separation, they choose to get aggressive in their attempts to keep our chains on us... Well... Ill have no problem giving in to that warm tingly feeling...
The point is, we have nowhere to run nor should we. If we want our freedom we are going to have to take it and then defend it. We need folks who are up to that task and have the desire to give themselves to the cause of freedom. Sure, rush has the money to go live anywhere on the planet he chooses, but so did a good portion of the original founders. They chose to stay, because they believed in the cause of freedom and liberty.
Our goal is NOT to save this nation or government at the cost of all else... Our goal is to take our freedom and liberty even if it means abandoning the corpse of the old diseased union and creating a new one.
I am berating Rush for choosing to abandon THAT cause.
The issue is that the folks in New York and DC want to control the lives and health of the folks in Sweetwater. They are no longer content with lording over the idiots in their own back yard, they want it all and everyone else now.
I would have to argue with the comment that we got better after those “worse times”. We never did recover... It only got worse... Until we found ourselves here, now, on the edge of (if not already in free fall into) the marxist abyss...
We are in free fall now, my FRiend
Perhaps buy a boat and take to the seas....
While Australia/New Zealand and other places is a possibility I think Canada makes the most sense. Since it is evenly divided now politically a ton of American conservatives moving up there would shift the politics firmly to the right.
It would also be the easiest to emigrate to and return from in my opinion and a conservative Canada right next to the United States with nuclear weapons (they have the uranium ore) could help conservatives remaining in the States and also broadcast Rush Limbaugh and other conservative radio and TV across the border.
Of course if some conservative billionaire built a top secret underwater city under the polar icecap as a last resort I would consider that possibility when 50 or 100 years later we would arrive at the remains of liberal ran cities and nations and reclaim the Earth from the liberals who would be at a primitive stone age civilization.
In just four days at Gettysburg 50,000 Americans died. My dad told me that he knew people during the depression that fed themselves by getting food out of garbage cans. OK, right now we got 9.8% unemployment. That's not as bad as it was during Reagan's second year in office; we got better.
What, just because they now get an openly gay US ambassador? /s (<--- added as insurance)
Been there...;^)
A friend of mine in China (american) lurks on FR but will never post. Apparently, some enterprising IT guy was able to get around the banned sites for him
Im talking about freedom.
Simply existing war or with enough to eat is not a measure of anything.
We are slaves to the government and the collective. We are a resource to be tapped at the whim of our masters. We are not free, and THAT is all that matters.
Correction...
“Simply existing without war or with enough to eat...”
It does, however, offer one significant impediment which has caused me to decide to stay in Texas:
From New Zealand, America's domestic enemies are out of bayonet range.
> When we were there in spring of ‘01 the prime minister, Helen something, dis banned the NZ military, as I recall from radio reports.
Not quite as bad as that, Ditter. Helen Clark dis-established the fighter arm of our air force. Her view was that twenty-or-so expensive aircraft wouldn’t help much in a real shootin’ war, and that our limited funds were better spent beefing up our Army and Navy.
It is a decision that, to this day, hasn’t sat well with a large number of folks here. Whenuapai, where our air strike capability was based, is in the town where I live. Admittedly, tho’, Helen had a good point: if you are a tiny country with a tiny budget, it is best to do your military spend where it can best improve the military’s fighting capability. Unfortunately for our Air Force, that wasn’t going to be with new fighter aircraft.
The rest of our military remains intact. Our Army is in Afghanistan now, including two rotations of our elite NZ SAS.
