Well maybe you're right, I just used her as an example of someone who chose the dirty/sexy image after being a relatively clean teen idol.

Speaking for myself, I don't listen to her anymore. I don't like her skankiness.

I think they have all gone to that in recent years. Although Christina Aguilera has now gone back to a much cleaner image.

Record executives are always pushing to change things up to keep performers interesting. When it isn’t based so much on talent it is necessary to keep changing the image.
