Rockies-Phils has started on TNT...barely above 30, “snow expected in an hour”. They showed a Philly Fanatic doll in a block of ice.

Punto’s base-running mistake dooms the Twins...?

Yes, another Twin mistake to give the announcers something to repeat over and over again.

Phillies up 1-0 it says on bottom of screen. Maybe I should just turn to TNT. This game’s over.

The Boston Herald occasionally prints a list of the highest paid players. The Red Sox only had a few, like J.D. Drew,
but it was chock full of Yankees. Buying a championship?

If so, then it was so pleasant for Sox fans in 2003 to see that the team which beat us in the ALCS (barely), NYY, went on to lose the World Series to the low-payroll Florida Marlins :)
(featuring Mr. Mike Lowell and Mr. Josh Beckett.)

Also he was “our” guy then, but I do fondly remember
Johnny Damon’s grand slam vs the Yanks in game 7 of
the 2004 ALCS...

From Boston Herald:

http://bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/20091012red_sox_fans_heartbroken_and_deflated/srvc=home&position=3

>>In less time than it takes to eat a Fenway frank, Ben Deschene, 25, of Presque Isle, Maine, went from high-fiving his buddies to staring glumly at the field, watching the Angels dance in their dugout.

>>“I’m speechless. I’m completely heartbroken and deflated, said Deschene, who drove seven hours and spent $300 on his ticket. “They’re a team that usually pull these type of games out. Papelbon is Mr. Clutch, but today he just didn’t have his stuff.” ”

>>But Dave Olsen, 57, of East Granby, Conn., had a favor to ask the Angels. He snagged Angels shortstop Eric Aybar outside Gate D and begged, “You guys beat the pants off the Yankees.”
