They were the only white group that got air play on WWRL in Harlem in the 60’s.

Funny thing, in the 50s there were a handful of rockers who could actually sing...

Certainly one of their best, made even more famous by the movie “Ghost”, and then re-released.

Soul and Inspiration and then Lovin’ Feelin’ were, IMO, even better...iconic, in fact. But, the most fun song they ever did was thier first done as a duo, Little Latin Lupe Lu! Every girl we saw, we used to sing that to her. hahaha

BTW, why is it that every time I see a post linked to a song, I hit youtube and lose an hour...or so. LOL

Do you remember the Al Hibler version? It was originally an instrumental, and was so popular, decided to make a redo with lyrics sung by Hibler, c. 1955. He had an amazing voice. And I DO love the Righteous Bros version.

Roy Orbinson gave a good rendition - but my favorite Orbinson song is

but back to Unchained Melody - Al Hibler first sang it? - but I like the Righteous Brothers version best. If I had the proverbial nickle for every time I sang that back in the '50's, I'd have no money worries...

You probably don't know that they made this one and was made popular later by others.

Same thing happens here. Has anyone heard the Rightous Bros. version of White Cliffs of Dover? Can’t be beat.
