Hold on a sec. I think I can still make a case that we don't can't be sure who the perp was....isn't it theoretically possible that SHE was the perp and HE was the victim? Maybe not likely, but based on the text of the story, isn't it possible?

I agree with you. I read the article twice because I wasn't sure who killed who.

I’m surprised they aren’t hinting that he took her gun away from her and then used it on her and then used it on himself, being as that’s one of their more common memes as to why people shouldn’t arm themselves.
