IMO, the danger is very real. As Americans, we’ve never had to experience totalitarianism or such a real and substantive change to our system of governmen, and we don’t know how to respond. We’re accustomed to doing the writing campaign and thinking about a change in administration four years down the road. What if there’s no opportunity four years down the road? obama promised to fundamentally change our nation, and he told us how we would do it - and very few were listening. What to do? I’ve found that one of my senators is surprisingly receptive to hearing my opinion - but she’s not changing her position on anything. The other senator - petitioning him is like beating your head against a wall. He’s too entrenched in the system, and his family is too. Are town hall meeting the answer? They’ve been effective so far.
Town hall meetings might be good for identifying new leadership. But the kind of leaders we need now are not the kind that get elected imo.
If BO can put czars in place with nary a word to or from the American people, then the American people can find our own unelected leaders who will help direct us to the next step (the tea parties are good but we’ve got to take it to the next level).
Do you understand what i’m referring to?
