Here is video of CNN broadcasting the announcement that Chicago is out of the running for the 2016 Olympics. The announcer is disbelieving, saying repeatedly, "Chicago is Out?" Chicago received the least number of votes in the first round despite a full court press by President Obama and First Lady Michelle to get the Olympics for their hometown. . . . (VIDEO)

There hasn't been back-to-back Olympics on the same continent, that's why Rio wins.
I can just imagine all of the IOC members being embarrrassed for Obama when he stated he was going to fly in. If Chicago received that few votes they must have known that he was doing so for no reason. They knew they werent’ going to pick Chicago for some time and that there was no chance.
MSNBC said it was like a “punch in the stomach” to Obama. Well, yeah, when was the last time ANYBODY said NO to this man???
Maybe the video of inner-city kids beating on one of their own with a 2x6 didn’t help.
Who cares? At least my Crook County and Chicago taxes might not go up as quickly without the Olympics in town. Besides, what the heck are we supposed to do with a velodome once the Games are over?

Did you HEAR Obama’s answer to the last Committee questions? POTUS said Chicago would show the world its great diversity AND make up for its (Bush created) anti-Americanism,
Till then, I was ambivalent because I like Chicago, despite the Obamas/Daleys/Emmanuel/Axelrod, et al. After that answer, I really hoped Chicago didn’t get it.
MF going to the world, once again, and apologizing for America was far more than I could stomach. So, I guess Michelle ‘sacrificed’ for nothing, after all.
