I Hate Seeing Myself On Stage: Star Wars Sex Symbol Carrie Fisher On Her Weight Gain [Pics in URL]
Daily Mail Reporter 01st October 2009
At the tender age of 19 Carrie Fisher became a worldwide sex symbol with her iconic role as Princess Leia in Star Wars.
But at the age of 52 her weight gain has left her unable to look at film of herself on stage.
Fisher spoke out after her successful one-woman show Wishful Drinking opened on Broadway.

Well, she could always go back to the coke.
Carrie Fisher a sex symbol as Princess Leah? I don’t see it. I can’t believe she was ever considered a sex symbol.
Carrie porked out-—my life is ruined!! sarc
Who is she and why should we care????
I can’t understand the anger. She is 52 and looks it. So what?
In the sci-fi world it’s called the Princess Leia paradox: Princess Leia hot, Carrie Fischer not. Odd, but somehow true.
Visuals?
Well, the weight isn't so much, but, I mean, the >EYE STUFF<, really, I mean, Da-yam girl!
25 or so years , the fake red hair and that blue sparkle crap around her eyes arent much help either.
I dunno. There's something about her I liked. I just wish I could put my finger on it.
I never thought Leia was hot. The skimpy getup grossed me out worse than Jabba the Hut. She’s a skank.
“wishful Drinking” - Title sums it up...step away from the bottle Carrie....
Don't worry. There's always Natalie Portman.
I would make a joke about hot grits, but this is FR, not /.
Good lord! What the hell happened? The glitter really shows that she’s a total fruitcake!

I remember when I first saw “Star Wars”, I thought she was not beautiful but pretty enough to get by in the role.
I do think she had a good figure which was well displayed on “Return of the Jedi”.
When a woman reaches a certain age (lets say, in the case of glitter applications, over the age of 12) cosmetic choices should be made wisely.
I’d rather have a healthy overweight Carrie Fisher than a coked out drug addict Carrie Fisher. Same for others like Stevie Nicks.
Who is she??? You are OBVIOUSLY not a hopeless nerd such as myself and did not play endlessly with Star Wars action figures and Death Stars. ;o)
