You can find the free version of AVG on their web site at AVG.com. There is a link there for either the home or business version of it. It has a spyware feature in it as well.

I would also reccomend Malwarebytes also for elimination of items that you sometimes get without it being caught by Zone Alarm and AVG due to your own errors. Malwarebytes also has a free download available too.

These are two of the very best programs I have encounterd in 23+ years of working with computers and techs who have recovered drives that were failing.

I have Zone Alarm but PC Magazine said it missed a fairly high percentage of viruses. I was thinking of uninstalling it - putting AVG on - running a scan to see what I got - then reinstalling Zone. (It has other features I like)

In your comment you seem to be saying that problems can happen due to your own errors.

Can you tell me a little more about that - I hope I'm running it correctly...
