The sleeper team in the Eastern Conference has to be the Lightning. That said, let the season begin.

I think if the NHL wants to be really popular again, the dream Stanley Cup finals will be the Detroit Red Wings or Chicago Blackhawks versus the Montreal Canadiens.

An interesting aspect that several well-known commentators mentioned: NHL players may be mean and tough on-ice but outside of the game they're some of the nicest people you've ever met.

A friend told me there’s a rumor that Forsberg might sign with the Capitals.

I think the Blues may may it back to the playoffs this year.

Keep in mind, though--for every game they play, are setting a new sports record (not just hockey)

...The most regular season games played by a team without winning their sport's highest trophy.

Thankfully there are so few NFL games in a season or the Lions would hold that one for all of time.

You’re kidding, right? However, isn’t Forsberg slighty used up with age and injuries by now?
