Windows works for me. But I'd never recommend it to anybody else, ever.
I admit it: I'm a bigot. A hopeless bigot at that: I know my particular prejudice is absurd, but I just can't control it. It's Apple. I don't like Apple products. And the better-designed and more ubiquitous they become, the more I dislike them. I blame the customers. Awful people. Awful. Stop showing me your iPhone. Stop stroking your Macbook. Stop telling me to get one.
Seriously, stop it. I don't care if Mac stuff is better. I don't care if Mac stuff is cool. I don't care if every Mac product comes equipped a magic button on the side that causes it to piddle gold coins and resurrect the dead and make holographic unicorns dance inside your head. I'm not buying one, so shut up and go home. Go back to your house. I know, you've got an iHouse. The walls are brushed aluminum. There's a glowing Apple logo on the roof. And you love it there. You absolute MONSTER.

I'm not surprised. In August, Microsoft was caught photoshopping a black person out of an ad aimed at Poland. Or maybe it was vice versa ...
Hey Keith?
I’ll make this short and to the point:
G.F.Y.
Witty retort. As a Widows person, you’re already adept doing that very thing, so I don’t have to say “Same to you arse-portal”.
And since he's switched to a Mac he no longer feels uncomfortable wearing a tutu and carrying a purse to work.
Well put. Slight quibble, the IBM PC was the reason MS-DOS (marketed as PC-DOS) hung in the air like a bad fart, er, I mean, wound up with such a large market share (and the peak is behind ‘em). I’ve often found it remarkable that so many arrogant know-it-alls post (under a nickname of course) telling me how they know all about me, my politics, my sexual preference, and whatever else, based on the fact that I use Apple products. They are trolls, plain and simple (emphasis on the latter).
Here’s some amusements (didn’t check the links):

I've tried it on both. I like the Mac version better, but whatever. Just make sure you get lots and lots of memory (> 4GB), just loading a view of Dalaran requires 4GB, or so the Blizzard support person told me.
My biggest gripe with WoW on Microsoft Windows was the slow automatic Alt-TAB Of Death. In the middle of a pitched battle the screen would freeze and begin minimizing to the desktop. By the time I got back control of the game, I would often be dead.
The real secret of WoW on the Mac is getting an external three button mouse. Makes things go much smoother.
I have a friend who is an engineer with a government contractor which works with the military. He is bilingual in Linux and Windows. Told him I have a Mac Pro I use at work and got a flood of “macs are gay” attitude from him. He went on about his dual boot machine and how cool it was that he could use either operating system at will.
I showed him my Mac Pro running Fusion. I can have Linux, OS X and SEVERAL flavors of Windows running simultaneously. I can drag and drop between virtual desktops. I can have three monitors, each running a different OS session and work interactively between them. I can run HD video in all three OS’s at the same time. By the time I was done, we were pricing a Mac for him on Apple’s web site.
They just work better.
He probably ended up with a dozen or so copies taped on his door. LOL
Funny thing is; I'm now a *nix (err Linux) guy. LOL
But I don't look like that though.
Short answer.
This is a Apple vs Microsoft thread. I didn’t use logic.
Long ranbling answer.
Years ago back when the company I worked for were buying IBM AT PC’s. Most LANs were local. There were a few Apple Networks also. I supported both Apple and IBM. On my level Apple was much harder to work with on getting parts. Some people don’t believe when I tell them we would change components on a board for some repaired. On the system level Apple would not let them make the changes they wanted. By the time Apple let them work with some of these details, the company had 100,000 pcs. I would tell a friend who doesn’t want to think about there computer to get a Apple.
Several years ago they let Apple bid on a contract but they would not commit to produce the same model for a length of time. Something around 30,000 units over the next 18 months.
Personally, I hate running any computer that doesn't have any system software that I did not have a hand in developing - I've been an Open Source contributor for 2 1/2 decades.
My must-have features are X11 (required for work) and virtual desktops (I have 12 on the Macbook Pro I'm typing this on and 16 open on the HP Linux workstation on my desk at work - all of them used).
I think a large part of this "Macs are GAY" meme is jealousy. When Macs were first being allowed for hardware refresh at the office, *everyone*, but especially the ladies, loved them. Mrs. Altair loves her Macbook. If the quickest way into a man's heart is through his stomach, the quickest way into a woman's heart is to give her a Mac.
I've done my share of UI design and I am delighted that someone has put such an easy-to-use interface on top of my beloved Unix. And one such that a hardcore programmer such as me (I've also done my share of Unix & Linux kernel development, etc.) enjoys using. Kind of like the Holy Grail, actually.
Well having a black person in your commerical these days is like having a fluffy puppy or a bikini clad girl. With Obama in office, black is the new cool, the epitome of hip. But you need either a clean cut guy or a girl with those culturally ambivilent loose curls, and having toothy gleaming white smiles is a must, no scowls allowed. Gold grills and greasy ghetto do's need not apply, you know have black folk that your daughter or son could date. Its sad actually, being used again first by cotton growers now by rich whiote liberals to sell "green" toilet paper.
It appears to be modeled after Ken Thompson.
Oh and for all you "I need Microsoft Windows because I do games" guys, Ken Thompson wrote the first Unix kernel in order to be able to play a space war game.
Bad Altair, naughty Altair. There's a reason why double negatives are considered bad writing style.
I hate running any computer with system software that I did not have a hand in developing.
I'm waiting for a "Mac OS X Madness!" video that shows people being exposed to Mac OS X and then running amok.
LOL!!! Now there's a real oxymoron!!!
