Deep Purple, Leon Russell, and Foghat, are not in the Rock and Roll hall of fame. Madonna is? Go figure. This is like stars on the Hollywood walk of fame. Some people wait til someone gives them one because it is supposed to be an honor. Others just buy one themselves, and put the star down.

They’ll never make it in, but Pere Ubu deserves to be in the RnR Hall of Fame, IMO.

The Stooges. Those guys were funny but I didn't realize they could sing as well...

Laura Nyro didn’t make it the first time? Shame on the voters!

It was kind of a lucky coincidence that Rockband and the remasters came out in the same week.
I would contest that there are not real bands creating real music today. There are many very talented bands out today. They just aren’t working in the dominant genre in an already very fractured marketplace. That doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

I agree that many of the most talented bands are not allowed into the mainstream today by the music industry tyrants, commies, faggots, and social engineers who keep them out.

Kiss? Sure, why not.
Chili Peppers? Yah, OK, considering who else is on the list.
Genesis? Before Phil Collins turned them into “Murph and the Magictones” they were good but not HOF.
The rest of the artists I don’t see going to the HOF. LL Cool J? In what way exactly is that Rock?
I think Rock is dying out. Too many kids, by demographics, who should be carrying on the rock tradition and following new artists, instead listen to (c)rap music. Makes me sick.

It is a long story, but Henry Rollins
explains why The Stooges belong in. Or Iggy anyway.

LL Cool J, ABBA, Donna Summer
No way in HELL these are even remotely Rock and Roll. Especially ABBA.

The RnRHoF is a joke. A lot of the people who are in it would have scoffed at the very idea when they were younger. Maybe one of the reasons rock is where it is today is because of such a place?

So what is the eligibility, 25 years from the release of the first album?
It’ll be a cold day in hell when they think of Iron Maiden. They make bands half their age look geriatric in comparison.

There’s something very wrong about LL Cool J being mentioned in the same group as Genesis.

Theres something very wrong about LL Cool J being mentioned in the same group as Genesis. ... or LLCoolJ being mentioned along with KISS, for that matter.

Ditto to that — they have sold something like 50 million albums, sell out stadiums across the world, and every recent album has debuted in the top 10.
Not to mention the fact that you won’t find a group made up of such individually great musicians anywhere else near the mainstream.
