'Vicious' Pomeranian ordered out of Aspen

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - It's out of town or else for Gizmo, a Pomeranian with a bad reputation in Aspen.

Municipal Judge Brooke Peterson told Gizmo's owner, Melinda Goldrich, that if the dog is seen again in town, it will be put to death. Goldrich was in court Wednesday on a charge of keeping a vicious dog.

An employee at an Aspen fitness club says Gizmo, who was tied to a fence, bit her in August. The dog served 10 days in an animal shelter.

Goldrich had been under a court order to not leave Gizmo unattended after he bit somebody in February. She was also cited in 2006 for his bad behavior.

Peterson threatened to have animal control officers round Gizmo up if he returns to Aspen.

Ah. Our springer doesn't mind having his paws handled. Then again, that's likely because we've been handling them since he was a pup — especially since we live in an area with reddish clay that stains carpet (and clothes) like you wouldn't believe. Someday I'll teach him to wipe his paws on the rug...then I'll teach pigs to fly.

The dog could not be clipped by its owners. Cesar “took charge” and held it while using the shears.

Before he was finished, the dog drew blood twice.

I just dislike dogs who have been allowed to gain control of their owners

She tied the dog to the fence and left it and you call that gaining control of the owner? You want to spend a day tied to a fence?

Yer nutz

"Large dogs have to be sedated to trim their nails."

How well I know the truth of this.....

One of our Shepherds ~Max~ had to be taken to the vet and sedated for a simple trim.

Once the vet tried it without full sedation and “fearless” Max emptied her anal sack.

I found a cure for my daughters nippy yappy little Pomeranian; a ferret. If the little dust mop made any noise the ferret would go medieval.
