The worth of a thing is the price it will bring. Nobody is the bad guy here. He has every right not to work for a penny less than he thinks he is worth and the 69ers have every right to keep lowering their offer.
Of course, the fact that other teams can’t bid should be a crime, but that’s another story.

I doubt Coach 50 would want him now in San Fran. He’s a team guy.

He can hold out and go into the 2010 draft, as he’s threatened. However, the 49ers will hold the rights to him until the day of the draft. That means he cannot speak with other teams, work out for them, or participate in the combine. Not the best strategy.

Yes, this is the issue. The kid has never caught a pass in the NFL and he wants a huge contract. Somebody has got into his head and convinced him that he's better than what he really is. He may be destroying his career before it even starts.

Receivers are a dime a dozen (on styreet corners in gay San Fran), and many a former sprinter have been trained and excelled at the job. Get this boy a bagging job at a supermarket.

All NFL teams should hold firm to the principal of: If we do not have a signature when training camp starts, you're gone for the year.
Jamarcus Russell at Oakland, Crabapple at SF. I say F'm both.
The NFL (and college and HS and Pee Wee) should all stop making these guys into prima Donna's).

I added a keyword or two as well. :)
For those of you who think the 49ers should have paid this prima-donna-diva-wannabe-whiner what the idiot Al Davis over-paid for his earlier pick, I can only sadly shake my head.
I applaud the 49ers (for once) for sticking to their guns, and refusing to offer him more than the pick in front of him, and for reducing their offer with every passing game that this newbie misses.
If Crabtree thinks he can forego this year, and somehow get drafted HIGHER than 10th NEXT year (lots of good WRs in next year's draft class), he is dumber than any of us give him credit for.
He would be a risky first round pick for any team in next year's draft. I'd love to see him drop to the 3rd or 4th round. Who needs another me-first prima-donna wide receiver on their team?

Has Crabtree even run a 40 yet? He was drafted without one due to his injury. If not and he drops a 4.6, his stock and $$$ will drop. Acting like a dope in my opinion.

I found it interesting that the player on the other end of Crabtree’s college stats, never got picked up (Graham Harrell). It’s kind of hard to think of Crabtree as all that special, if his QB wasn’t...

It’d be a shame if he blew his knee out today and never gets signed thus losing all that cash. Would all of his posse pay him back for the bad advice?
