I checked in and saw Chuck Liddell, Irvin and DeLay.

Not really rooting for the guy. DeLay may well have been a conservative warrior in some respects, I have no good feelings for this guy. He blew it big time. I hold him far more responsible than Pres Bush for the GOP’s demise. He controlled the purse strings, and they did nothing but spend, spend, travel, porkulize, and spend. They showed no leadership and seemed to focus more on enjoying their power than taking advantage of a GOP majority to shift policy. Outside of the issues Bush did show leadership on (good and bad), the House did little worthwhile between 2002 and 2006.

Excellent post, and true, unfortunately. I’ve never cared for Delay, who talked the talk and so many R’s bought it.
