The dogs were breed to fight to the death in a pit. Never stop until the other dog is dead.
They are unpredictable and dangerous.

Dog men have too much invested in their animals to let them fight to the death, so fatalities in the pit are rare. But grave, disfiguring wounds are the norm.

I'm not saying that it makes it okay, but pit bulls were not bred to be unstoppable killing machines. They were bred to acquiesce to their master's will. Quite a bit of time goes into training a fighting dog.

According to many reliable sources, only about 0.00004% of them are dangerous, which just happens to be the same for all other breeds. Those other dogs just aren’t as fun to talk about.

And they were not bred to fight until death. They were bred to follow the orders of their owners, which unfortunately involved many of them injured or killed, sometimes by the owners themselves.
