Los Angeles religious leaders have launched a phone campaign to urge lawmakers to include undocumented immigrants in any healthcare reform plan.
At a religious service Friday, faith leaders called access to healthcare a moral and spiritual imperative. More than 150 worshippers attended a Mass at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church and prayed for an all-inclusive reform plan.

Let them pay for it.

This nation is bankrupt. These people need to open their eyes and see. The state of California is already becoming a 3rd world state and they want to do the same thing to the whole country.
It’s time to push back.
What I have read and understood from the Bible is that God and Jesus wants us to help each other by using our own time, treasure and talent and to give from our hearts (”Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” - 2 Corinthians 9:7). Nowhere have I found anything along the lines of “Go out and institute huge bureaucracies that will take money from some people at the point of a sword and give that money to other people as a politician sees fit.”
Hmm which verse in the bible says "Take from those who work, at the point of a gun, and give to those who do nothing to earn anything in my name". My bible seems to have missed that verse.
Their “bible” says “to each according to need, from each according to ability”.
Obviously, you've never attended Pastor Jeremiah Wright's Trinity UCC Church in Chicago!! Slide on down there and get "churched up" Jake!!
Sounds like that would run contrary to that whole "Thou shalt not steal" thing.
Apparently their Nine Commandments say nothing about "Coveting thy neighbor's goods".
A hundred and fifty people! OMG! It’s a wonder the floor didn’t give way!
Sounds like a parish that should lose it’s tax exempt status. After all, if they have enough ‘extra’ money to put into the offering plate shouldn’t that money rightfully go to the government, so that they can more efficiently and fairly redistribute it?
Oh - everyone has access to health care. It's just that these church leaders want others to pay for illegal alien health care. If this is such a moral and spiritual imperative, these church leaders should forgo their limousines and pay for it out of takings from the collection plate.
There is absolutely no reason these “religious leaders” can’t take it upon themselves to pay the medical bills of their illegal alien members. Charity begins at home, not in Washington D.C. where it is extracted at the point of a gun.
That’s something I’ve never been able to figure out. Why don’t these churches pick up the tab for those without healthcare. Don’t these “faith leaders” care about them?
I’d say just pay for it if they want it, just so long as they get prosecuted for giving aid to illeagals.
Who cares about them? They’re all gonna head south when the shooting starts.
You can tell what kind of Catholic the cardinal is by reading is praise of Ted Kennedy on the occassion of Kennedy’s death. That says it all.
Mahony, Balony.
