Animals have a sith sense about people.
They KNOW who to be wary of. I believe I read it has to do with the persons scent. I'd bet body language plays into it too.

Even nObama’s kids think he smells bad. The first time I ever saw Michelle on TV she told a reported that the kids wouldn’t get in bed with their dad because (her words) He was “stinky snoreyâ€. I thought at the time, as a candidates wife, they are going to have to have a muzzle made for her.
