Where are all my girlfriends from the Vast Right Wing Knitting Circle? I miss you all! Let me know by responding to this post.
Stamping????
Stamping????
Well, it didn’t seem to post the first time! Please pardon the double post....
I’m a fiber addict ... how do I get on this list?
Do you (or your knitting circle) know anything about quilting and a character named “Sunbonnet Sue”? My wife and I just discovered a quilt with this character and we don’t know how old it is or if it has any value.
I got burned out for awhile and laid very low...and still am kind of low profile, but I lurk around every day...
They became real popular in the 1920s...they were made a lot in the 20th century. I don’t have any idea if they are valuable or not, but they wouldn’t be Victorian era or anything.
I miss you! You are so knowledgeable about your handwork and history.
Stamping will work! Welcome to the Circle!
Knitting A Conundrum had a list, as I remember. KAC, if this is not correct, let me know. Also please add Xenalyte to our Circle. The more, the merrier!
I don’t know anything about the value right off hand, but I know that Sunbonnet Sue and the feedsack print fabrics are really popular right now and have been for a while.
Let me do some looking and I will get back with you.
Hi!! I wondered the same thing a while back.....
I’ve been knitting up a storm this summer, making little girlie dresses and sweaters for friends’ little ones. I’ve just finished one shawl and liked it so much that I’ve started another one while the first one is blocking!
I did have a list...I’m not sure if it made the migration when I changed computers, but I can check...
I have been Googling here at work and there is a plethora of Sunbonnet Sue info on the Internet. I always thought of her as a Depression-era quilt because a lot of them were made with feedsacks, flour sacks, etc. that had been washed and prepared for quilting.
If you can get some kind of grasp on the age and condition of the fabric, that might be your best idea of the value. Apparently the pattern has been around for quite a while. It would be perfect for your daughter’s bed!
You go girl! I bet the girlie clothes are adorable and that they are very much appreciate by both the little ones and the friends.
I have been so “wee-wee’d up” about my cross-stitch this year that my house is a neglected mess. Oh, well, cross-stitch forever, housework whenever.
appreciate = appreciated
There’s a VRW Knitting Cirle? Count me in!
You are in! We used to have a list, but it might not exist anymore (see post 15). Another callout might be in the works, so stay tuned.
