The association must get out front on this situation. This is not about a black, talented tennis payer, one of the best int he world. It is about the structure of the game/sport. The line judge is no more than a part of the equipment for the staging of the event. The player has decorum guidelines which must not be allowed to be pissed upon. A player lost control of herself and verbally assaulted a line judge and made threatening moves toward the line judge. That must not be allowed. The player must be fined and suspended, without regard to race or sexual orientation.
Several years ago, a player became enraged and smacked a ball at the chair umpire, hitting the chap in the hand he stuck out to block the missile. The penalties were quite severe, as they must be. If a player cannot control themselves they have no business ont he court.
It is sad that such a talented young woman who lost control of herself will be manipulated and used as a pinata for the race baiters game. We have it right here at FR going on today. Shameful, almost as shameful as Serena's behavior.
