APOPKA Wildlife officials are putting the squeeze on owners of "monster" Burmese pythons.
On Friday, Delilah, an 18-foot-long, 400-plus-pound python who fed on rabbits in an Apopka-area backyard, was seized.
Earlier in the week, officials, acting on an anonymous tip, uncovered 11-foot-long male Burmese python, dwarfed by its female companion, a 17-foot behemoth weighing more than 150 pounds, at a Lakeland home. The owner did not have a permit and is being charged with two misdemeanors.

What is it with these sick bastards who insist on having massive reptiles for pets?

What is it with these sick bastards who insist on having massive reptiles for pets? I dunno. They would seem useful in getting rid of the rat problem, as in democRATs.

I’m a realist, I understand it’s the 21st century and you’ve probably had premarital relations with my daughter. But under our roof it’s my way or the long island express way. Is that understood? Good. Keep your snake in its cage for 72 hours.

I live in Central Fl - this was on our local news last night and they reported that the neighbors used to let their kids PLAY with this snake- they’d get on its back and ride it like a horse.
Not making it up.
Words fail.

That's what I was thinking. Are they good eatin'?
If so...that's a lot of steak!
To: SE Mom
they reported that the neighbors used to let their kids PLAY with this snakeI'm pretty sure if the snake isn't hungry... then it would be OK to touch... but the question is... how do you know until it is too late?

"She is as docile as can be. She's as happy as can be." How do you know when a snake is happy?
After a snake has a meal it finds a place to sleep, that makes it docile.
Sorry to any who have reptiles as pets but I do not believe that reptiles can be domesticated. I do not believe that they have the proper brain development to make it possible. They are creatures of pure instinct.

Perhaps they are trying to make up for something else that is undersized.
