A 16-year-old pleaded guilty today to one count of second-degree assault, one count of third-degree assault and one count of being a minor in possession of alcohol for siccing her pit bull on two women in June in SeaTac.
The girl entered the pleas after prosecutors amended the information to increase the seriousness of one of the assault charges from third- to second-degree based upon the seriousness of the injuries suffered by one of the victims. The girl was prosecuted as a juvenile so we are not naming her.
Under juvenile sentencing guidelines, the girl faces a standard sentence of 15 to 36 weeks in juvenile confinement. However, prosecutors will ask for an exceptional sentence up to one year.
Sentencing is set for Oct. 8.
The girl and a group of boys were abusing the pit bull on a SeaTac street on June 21. A 63-year-old woman saw the four youths kicking the dog and pulled her car over and asked if they were OK, according to charging papers. The girl cursed at the woman and told her to butt out, the papers say.
When the woman threatened to call police, the girl leaned into the car, yanked the woman's hair, grabbed her cellphone and beat her with it, according to the charging papers.
The girl kept assaulting the woman as she tried to escape through the car's passenger door, charging papers said. The dog then bit the woman on the thigh and hand.
The woman was treated at Highline Medical Center.
A 41-year-old motorist who confronted the youths as they walked away was also mauled, according to charging papers. That woman said the girl punched her in the face and head, knocking her down. She said the pit bull bit her on both arms, court papers said.

I remember when the original article was posted. Glad to hear the outcome, but for me she committed assault with a deadly weapon... a real idiot and future gang banger..
Unfortunately, the pit bull will be the only one put to sleep. I’d have done the same to the whole gang of “yoots”.
