It is sad to say, but even sadder to know it is true, many, if not most, pro (and big time college) football players are thugs. Pampered, protected by their celebrityhood and way too highly paid thugs all the same.

And this is not a new thing. There is an article on the current issue of Playboy about the early Oakland Raiders titled "Bad to the Bone: The Coolest Team Ever to Play the Game" and, déjà vu, an interview with Merriman as the Chargers 'Meanest SOB.'
