Still check with the ones in stores. If they have a video/audio out. Then you should be able too.
I created my own DVR in a way - I record on my PC whatever is playing out of the cable box but the problem is I can’t use the PC while I do that - it records what’s on the screen so if I move a mouse it records that as well. Very annoying.
