Madoff's NYC Penthouse via You Tube

The sweeping sense of opulence, majesty this 4,000 square foot penthouse, one of many numerous residences Madoff had once called home, is all the more breath-taking when you realize the sort of wrenching dichotomy Madoff will be made to endure within the agonizingly bare, spartan surroundings of the last place he'l ever get to call home.

It's vitally important to bear in mind that it was not capitalism. the free enterprise system that was impugned , only that of sinister, contemptuous excuse of a human being.

The curtains and bed linings made the bedroom look just awful. The rest of the penthouse was pretty nice.

No books in the bookcases. How odd. I’m suspicious of households without books.

If only you could have warned them sooner!

That particular treatment was very popular in the 1980s and early 90's. The Mario Buatta approach. I suspect they had it expensively decorated back then and didn't change it.

Nice but not opulent. I was expecting something much more vulgar and ostentatious. It looks merely comfortable, and the only thing that deserves the word “spectacular” is the view.

The bronzes were the only thing that really commands attention.
