I've been out looking for images for posters, but they all print up too small and lose all rez when I enlarge them. I need a face at least eight inches square. I also like that one where she looks real surprised.
Thanks-—now I’m gonna have nightmares for the next week...
Thanks! I plan to DEFILE it. (bwwwooohahaha)
Thanks. Trust me to use them well.
If you have PhotoShop, you can try this trick:
1. Open the image you want to enlarge.
2. Go to the Actions menu and create a new action called something like “enlarge by 10%”. Assign the action to a key or key sequence.
3. Go to the Image menu and select Image Size...
4. Under Document Size, set the width and height to 110 Percent.
5. Check all three checkboxes on the bottom, and select “Bicubic Smoother” as the resampling method.
6. Click OK
7. Stop your recorded Action.
Now just keep hitting your assigned key or key sequence to enlarge by 10% each time, until it’s as big as you want.
When you enlarge in 10% increments (as opposed to just enlarging by the final percentage you want in one step), the degradation in quality is not too bad at all. I don’t know exactly why this works, but it does.
