Is the liberal media a death panel?

Posted on 09/08/2009 5:51:12 PM PDT by Halfmanhalfamazing

Think about that for a second. Are they a death panel? I think they are. On a day to day basis...... hourly.... they kill information. They kill A LOT of information. Whatever gets deemed too inconvenient gets omitted and ignored and suppressed. Whatever is unavoidable they propagandize and spin away to make it fit the template, or they just poo poo and down play it. They are a body which keeps rationing and rationing information that they don't approve of. Think about some of those commonly heard talking points regarding the drive bys:

"If it bleeds it leads" Except when it doesn't fit the agenda. ( Jonathan Schrieken )

"Controversy sells" They'll avoid controversy if it doesn't fit the agenda. ( Van Jones )

"Political scandals sell" Except when it doesn't fit the agenda. ( They will even join in on the coverup )

"the american people have a right to know" Except when it doesn't fit the agenda. ( Details of what's in the healthcare bill )

"We objectively report all of the facts" Except when they have a stake in the outcome. ( If Bush defeats Kerry there will be a draft draft DRAFT! - the forgotten MSLM talking point )

Sure, we're not talking about healthcare. But it's an incredibly accurate way to characterize the media.

They are information rationing bodies.
