While you think about all the "isms", and their affect on mankind, let me just say this: Capitalism, which includes the aspect of "free enterprise", has ALWAYS been the driving force behind invention and growth for mankind.

There was a time that primitive peoples exchanged animal hides for other goods and services. From there we built civilization.

So now we have leaders who say "no more". We will take from the peoples who produce to give to those who don't produce, because we are "compassionate". They say we must destroy a system that has worked for eons, because some few don't have the same amount of goods.

What say you? I say, wrong. If someone doesn't want to produce, let them go the way of the Neanderthals. If they won't contribute to our societal compact,...good bye...hope you have a better life in the after life.

“societal compact”

I see, but I think it goes to human nature (natural law) and not just a society.

I don’t believe in magical contracts, however. Just cuz I’m born in your vicinity does not mean I entered into a contract with you—I certainly can’t sign any contract with my stubby little infant fingers.

I’m beginning to think freedom has to be forced on humanity—they keep defaulting to slavery, even when they are presently free. A very odd thing to witness.

So, if what’s best for them is their freedom I would think a system based on individual freedom is one worth ‘enforcing’.
