You know what breaks my heart? Not only what these boys have done, but what they have gone through, how they have been (not) cared for their whole lives. No one in their whole world that probably ever nurtured them, hugged them, tucked them in, came in when they cried in the middle of the night, told them they were special and made them feel loved, even when they were little guys. Just having one person like that in a child’s life can make such a difference.

That's not necessarily true; some people are just barbarians, even at that tender age.

I can relate to your post. As a former youth pastor, I saw this a lot. wild feral kids left to raise themselves. We took in a wild 13 year old, didn't know his right hand from his left. wild, mean,un-raised. now 5 years later hes doing fine, has joined the U.S. Army, and is getting good grades in school (despite being 4 grades down 5 years ago)

As Christians we have the RESPONSIBILTY to care for widows and orphans. James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. there are between 3,500 and 11,000 (depending on who you ask)kids in the United States that are free for adoption waiting in foster homes or group homes. about 200,000,000 people regularly attend church. you think 200 million people could find a place in their hearts for 11,000 kids...
