I’d be interested in knowing what reason your parents gave/used to “keep you in line.” Ultimately, your own self- interest? Or?

I am curious what is used as a moral compass in your home, if you don’t mind me asking?
Do you consider yourselves atheists? Are you talking about you and your own family, or you growing up with your siblings? Does everyone still feel the same way?
I don’t mean to be nosy, but your statement brings up a lot of questions in my mind... I wouldn’t be offended if you didn’t want to answer.
