This is what I do. Unless the weather is abysmal, I’ll play rather than watch; in addition, the most compelling character in golf isn’t Woods, unless he starts having personal problems; it’s Daly. Daly, who the official golf world has always hated, isn’t seen much on Sundays but is Must See TV when he contends. Tiger is a winning automaton. Daly is larger than life.

Mute the sound and perform your own commentary. That was easy. Next?

Daly has bigger than life problems.

"Tiger is a winning automaton."

I think that sums up your problem...Plain, ordinary envy.

Two replies, one true, one shows transference. Yeah, Daly has larger than life problems, but at the ‘92 PGA here, guess who the nicest guy was? The defending champ. His problems started after Strange’s slight in ‘95 telegraphed that he could win all the majors he might, he’d never be accepted by the game’s elite. Who knew he was that fragile? That makes any right thinking American root harder for his redemption.

I think there are a lot of racists who watch to see Tiger Woods lose, too. That doesn’t make it right. May the best golfer win, may he get continuous coverage by the media, and may those that hate Tiger Woods just get over it.
