Though that quote seems to be all over the internet on blogs, I don't think it's legitimate

I don't see a real trace of it either. It's a good lib trap to avoid, one that lets them take the attention off the contact O and Blago had.

I think the reason this quote might have vaguely rung 'true' to so many bloggers & why it was even believable to some here today perhaps is that Obama did in fact try to get away with the whopper that he & Blago hadn't had any contact about who Blago would appoint to fill Obama's senate seat. THAT claim sounded bogus the instant he made it - it didn't ring true at all because you could make the case that he would have been derelict in his repsonsibilities to his constituents if he hadn't have tried to weigh in on the Governor naming his successor. And eventually it came out that Rahm & Blago had extensive contact about filling the seat after all - as is his wont, Obama was parsing the truth on that.
