UNIONTOWN, Pa. – A Pennsylvania history buff who recreates firearms from old wars accidentally fired a 2-pound cannonball through the wall of his neighbor's home. William Maser, 54, fired a cannonball Wednesday evening outside his home in Georges Township that ricocheted and hit a house 400 yards away...

You misunderstand. I want a real one, a twelve-pounder, not a toy or even a reduced-scale gun. I also want a gun crew, and a gun carriage, and horses to drag it around. Also a handsome boyfriend to pay for it all. I’m an excellent shopper and could do this for under six figures, so the boyfriend would be getting a great deal. Think how much fun we would have blowing stuff up with that baby!

As the novelty wore off, they looked high and low to find the makings of a M/L mortar that would fire old bowling balls. MythBusters used a makeshift cannon powered by match heads to fire a bowling ball at some bowling pins. The ball bounced over the pins, and a considerable distance uphill behind them.
