The most insidious part of the war on drugs is the transfer of assets to police agencies (cash is often confiscated with no charges filled), wonder where that Cadilac Escalade came from. Many police departments are beginning to behave like gangs and I sometimes wonder if all of the cop shows actually influence their behavior.

You're right. Like alcohol prohibition, drug prohibition is worse for society than the “problem” it was created to address. The war on drugs has done more to turn police into thugs than any program that came before it. And like alcohol prohibition before it, it corrupted our legal system without stopping anyone from getting high.
