There is no evidence that this man had anything to do with the woman he gave a ride to.”

As an aside,
A pastor, especially a young one, should never be alone with a woman, other that his wife, in any circumstance.

“Since all cops are evil and and presumed guilty”

You do a very nice job of twisting the content of this thread.

“The logic expressed on this thread seems to be- if anyone tries to arrest you, if they claim to be police run then down or shoot them because they are probably not;”

No, it’s not.

“They probably did think they were in danger.”

Ayers put the car in reverse and fled, striking one officer and causing minor injuries.

Police fired at the fleeing vehicle.

If someone ran over your foot and was driving away, would you think you were in danger?
If you fired at the departing vehicle and killed the occupant, what would happen to you?

Never happen. That would mean the government giving up power, money, and a way to subvert the Constitution.

I feel the same way when General Patton said he would attack on both sides when he was asked what would he would do if he had the Russians on one side of him and the Germans on the othe. Basically, I'm referring to the leftists and the big government, statist GOP and FReepers.

Like I keep saying, it all went down hill when they became law enforcement instead of peace officers.

The woman in his car was under surveilence for selling coke. I just hope he really was helping her and not exchanging services. I hope he really was trying to win her to the Lord and not using her. It’s no excuse for the cops shooting him either way.

Strange, but on nearly every thread of this nature, we are treated to a lecture by some bootlicker on how we should consider how cops, TRAINED cops, are required to make split second judgment calls in life or death situations. Now, a young, small town PREACHER who is completely oblivious to any danger is supposed to react in a split second to being surprised by multiple armed attackers without resorting to the "fight or flight" instinct?

Impressive statement, civilian police raids in our neighborhoods should be so well investigated, planned and trained for, and conducted in such a manner that loss of innocent life is almost non existent.

Have the police forgotten what their duty is? There must be less deadly ways to enforce local laws.

Generally speaking, when someone mentions a “secret society” to meet out justice in “cases like this”, they are refering to the Star Chamber, which killed people.

There is no other real way for a secret society to “meet out justice”.

Never heard of the “Star Chamber”... And Justice wouldn’t necessarily be done by killing someone.

The logic expressed on this thread seems to be- if anyone tries to arrest you, if they claim to be police run then down or shoot them because they are probably not;

What bull crap. What Gestapo boot licking crap.

An Escalade pulls up to where you have just left an ATM, and screaming guys in civilian clothes jump out with shiny bling bling around their necks. From that, we are supposed to think "oh, police," and not "OMG, I'm about to be robbed, carjaced or killed?"

Sorry, but I'm thinking option #2, and if you're a cop and not retarded, you had better give some consideration to the fact that that is the way that 95% of normal people will be thinking.

And then SCOTUS ruled that it’s not the cops job to protect the citizens.

Wonder how that affected the cops feelings towards citizens?

“I suppose it is absurd to suggest that someone transporting a coke dealer and who goes to such links to evade capture might in fact be the guilty party”

Notice that to Jonah, the woman is already a convicted coke dealer, and the pastor knew this.

What a Gestapo mentality.

This case reminds me a lot of the FBI SWAT team in Maryland who blew the face off of the Eagle Scout after a mistaken ID felony traffic stop. Half of the Fibbies were screaming "GET OUT NOW!" and the other half were screaming "DON'T MOVE!" as their M-4 rifles were all aimed at his head through the windshield.

He finally moved a little to unbuckle his seatbelt, and they shot him in the face with a rifle.

THen they were high-fiving over his bleeding body on the sidewalk, while his equally innocent passenger/girlfriend screamed in horror. They didn't call an ambulance for a long time, hoping the "bandit" would bleed to death first.

F-ing Gestapo mentality.

So let me get this straight... If immediately after using an ATM, two guys in civilian clothes jump out of a vehicle that can best be described as the "thug vehicle of choice" and start running towards me with weapons drawn, I should hang around and submit to whatever they demand because they just MIGHT be cops? Strange, but on nearly every thread of this nature, we are treated to a lecture by some bootlicker on how we should consider how cops, TRAINED cops, are required to make split second judgment calls in life or death situations. Now, a young, small town PREACHER who is completely oblivious to any danger is supposed to react in a split second to being surprised by multiple armed attackers without resorting to the "fight or flight" instinct? Now we hold unarmed preachers to a higher standard than trained, armed police officers? Amazing.

Well said, and worth repeating.

Right. A couple of gangbangers with bling around their necks jump out of a black SUV waving guns = cops did nothing wrong

mistaken ID felony traffic stop

Mistaken? They were looking for a suspect wearing a cap in a red car. The guy they shot was wearing a cap in a red car (different make) - eh close enough.
