D.J. Harper added a 1-yard scoring run for Boise State, but the impressive effort by the Broncos was overshadowed in the postgame scrum when Blount punched Boise State's Byron Hout and was then restrained from fans by police on the field.
"I just apologize to anyone watching that," Blount said. "I just apologize to all of our fans and all of Boise's fans. That's something I shouldn't have done. I lost my head."
Rumors even swirled afterward the Blount would be arrested, but Oregon sports information director Dave Williford said that talk was "absolutely false."

Dude, it already happened BEFORE (last season); so how can you say it won't happen again. It already has!
At least it’s not a Clintonian “if anyone was offended” pseudoapology.
He should face criminal charges IMHO, and he should be suspeneded for the entire season, if not for several games.
He is the same loud mouth who got media attention a few days before the game when he said in the locker room at Oregon that "Boise State deserves a major a** whoopin".
As it turned out, the whoopin went the other way. Except for BSU miscues, that score should have been 35 or more to 8. And this guy could not handle that and turned violent after the game.
Saw this on ESPN...dude was completely out of control. He went after the fans for god’s sake!
Shouldn’t he at least be removed from the game and suspended for the season, or do they want to wait until he injures someone?
one report I heard was the Boise coach was also upset that his player , the taggee, was taunting the ducks and one of the duck lost it.. after a highly spirited game, perhaps not a good thing but youth is youth.
not sure how far this one will go.. but let’s hope it isn’t an omen for the season ahead.
I have a sneakin feeling Blount will be riding the bench for a few weeks.. or at least watching the game in civvies for awhile... that was a cheap shot for sure.
But to lose it and then sucker punch that player was not tolerable. And then, on his way out to lunge at fans trying to physically attack them (which he would have done had not three or four men grabbed him and restrained him) just put it further over the line.
Like I said, and it is just my opinion, the guy should face suspension (and a healthy one given his history) and criminal charges.
Hogwash. He had just served a suspension for slugging one of his own teammates. OU needs to kick this POS gorilla out of school, the NCAA needs to ban him from ever playing again, and Hout needs to press charges.
Won't happen, but that's what needs to happen.

As the Broncos began celebrating on their famous blue turf, Hout yelled in Blount’s face and tapped him on the shoulder pad. That drew an immediate scream from Boise State head coach Chris Petersen, but before Petersen could pull Hout away, Blount landed a right hand to the defensive end’s jaw.
