You make an interesting point and one I’ve not had time to research.

So...

Has anyone ever challenged, in court, the creation of medicare or medicaid? What about the VA health care system?

Check out Shalala v. Illinois Council on Long Term Care, Inc. While this case didn’t challenge the overall legality of Medicare, it was a challenge to the regulations Medicare imposes on health providers. The Supreme Court ruled that anticipatory challenges to the validity of Medicare regulations may not be filed federal courts. It stated that any challenges to Medicare must be be channeled through the special administrative review process created by the Medicare Act. I.E. Medicare’s own board can determine the legality of their own actions.

What about the 16th ammendment? What about a lot of unconstitutional stuff?
If I were dictator for a week, I would abolish medicaid, medicare, Social Security, All public funds for schools and a host of other things.

the phrase “the US” would be replaced to what it used to be called, “these united states”. The federal government used to be the thin line of mortar that held together a wall made of large bricks called “states.

It has become a wall of mortar with a few tiny chunks of brick. It is almost completely out of the control of the people. Fortunately, the whole system upon which it rests is collapsing before our very eyes. As interesting as the last year or two has been, the next three to eight months are gonna be a wild ride. Almost anything can happen, and probably will.
