When 33-stone Viking enthusiast Tim Barnacle got too heavy for his longboat he knew it was time to take action.
Now Tim, 47, has shed almost 10 stone since February 2008 so he can take to the water on his replica Nordic boat without fear of it capsizing.
He bought the 20ft boat named Ratatosk after a Norse red squirrel in 2000 but as his weight crept up, Tim's passion became more difficult to enjoy.

33 stone is pretty big... 462 pounds. and he lost 140 pounds.
Pretty good start.
I’m thinking that passing 10 stones has got to hurt.
