US debt is so large, it doesn't even fit on most calculators. Western Colorado property developer Matt Miles was concerned that no one in the government, nor most Americans, had ever seen the number.
So he made a new calculator, it emerged yesterday.
The Big Red calculator displays 16 digits. That's enough to show all the numbers in the national debt, which totalled nearly $11.8 trillion (R93 trillion), or $11 792 918 170 836.43, at the start of this month.

Should be the “Official Calculator of the Debtocratic Party.”
A number such as $11 trillion is meaningless to people. It is better to express it as debt per American, which comes out to about $37,000 per person assuming about 300 million Americans.
Time is money, right? If you make one dollar every second, you will have a million dollars in twelve days. You will be a billionaire in 32 years, but it will take you more than 31,000 years to make a trillion dollars.
More than my first mortgage.
And, continuing with your math, it will take you 365,800 years to make 11.8 trillion.
