Authorities have closed Discovery Park in Seattle's Magnolia neighborhood after a cougar was seen roaming the area.

a cougar was on the old parade grounds of the park, a former Army post bordering Puget Sound on the city's northwest side.

"This cat was large; he was very long. His tail was very long," Jacobs said. "I was fairly shook up, I have to tell you."

Seattle will now have a good reason to suffer from “Sleepless In Seattle Syndrome” (SISS). There is nothing like a real beastly predator stalking you to boost the adrenaline level.

However, probably worse yet for the self esteem of Seattle Libroids will be the raucus ribaldry of the Republican reptiles as they snark about Seattle Sissies suffering acute SISS - and no check from Obama to make them feel good, either.

Since a cougar attempted to kill a child nearby, perhaps Seattle will allow open carry and put a bounty on cougars prowling the streets.

Hands off that keyboard, punsters!

I meant four legged cougars.
