Massachusetts Democratic Sen. John Kerry, with a personal fortune of at least $167.8 million. Let me get this straight. A broke John Kerry leaves the Navy in 1972 with the clothes on his back, no place to live, and no job. How the f%^& did he make $ 167M?

It woul be great to see a real investigative reporter take on this issue.
What were they worth when they went into congress?
Bills they voted for which benefited them personally with an estimate of the value of the benefit. Example: Pelosi adding in a minimum wage exemptuion to boost gher hubby's company. How much did Dodd benefit from his loan fraud.
What are they worth now?

The difference between Rep. Issa mentioned and the others who used the system for their benefit and or married into money.
Issa started from square one. After Army service 1970-80
He started a company, part of which was the product Viper car alarm and No. America’s largest auto electronics manugacturer.
