To be fair, few people outside Wasilla knew about the real Levi Johnston at the time Bristol Palin’s pregnancy became front page news.

Most people took his story at face value—that he was going to man up, marry Bristol and work in the oil fields to support them.

Sarah and Todd were probably not too hopeful about the outcome, but had some hope Levi might do the right thing.

Once the news came out about his mom’s drug problems (which was still during the election), I started to see a picture of a family that was taking advantage of the Palins.

If Bristol Palin had been a Kennedy: she would have been lobotomized and institutionalized, Levi would have "disappeared," and the public would have never known about the pregnancy.
