ATWOOD, Ind. - The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department says a 37-year-old man has been killed after apparently being pulled into a wood chipper.
James Vician of Plymouth was feeding cut tree limbs into a wood chipper just before 9 a.m. Tuesday in Atwood, located about 20 miles southeast of South Bend.
A coworker who was across the street returned to the wood chipper and could not find Vician. He called police, believing Vician may have been pulled into the machine. When police arrived, they discovered evidence of who they believe to be Vician in the rear of the wood chipper.

That has to be the most excruciating death ever experienced. Words fail me.

This is awful.
My guess is that he probably got ‘attached’ to a limb that he was feeding into the machine. This can happen very easily because there are all kinds of smaller twigs sticking out and many places to hook oneself onto.
If he went head first, it only hurt for a second. If he went feet first, probably 5 seconds at the most. If fought going into the chute, maybe longer than that.
I pray he met his demise with as little pain as possible. Prayers also for his family and friends.

Easy. A tree branch gets snagged on clothing.
Game over.
That’s why I’ve tried to stay away from it most of my life. Too damned dangerous, work is.
