You wont regret it!

I’ve had a woodstove for 5 or 6 years and it has saved us a fortune.

The quality of the heat is really excellent, too. Especially during “wet” weather. My wife has RA and it makes a big difference to her.

It is a lot of work if you heat as much as we do. We live in central MD and try our best not to turn the oil on till December.

Anyway, I try to keep in shape, but at 46 hacking up the wood myself can wear on me. I recommend buying or renting a splitter. Save your body from some of the trauma.

Look out for Barry’s big Gubmint coming to put a catalytic converter on your stove some day, so they can charge you for “polluting”. I would not let Feds or insurance folk into my home for them to snoop around.

I bet that is just around the corner. They better not set foot on my property!

I replaced an old air tight stove with a catalytic stove about three years ago. It was a great investment. I get much less creosote build up and burn about 25% less wood for the same amount of heat.
