The "special undies" are a very meaningful reminder of obligations to one's God and one's spouse. Removal of the "special undies" is one last high barrier on the road to sin, a very serious act that should give pause to anyone thinking of committing adultery.
And yet, if your faith is based on a total reliance on Christ and his sacrifice for the forgiveness and deliverence from your sin, there is no need of such crutches; for your religion is not based on your need to work at it, but rather, relying on Jesus to provide you with the ability to live above your sin because he has already done all the work necessary on Calvary.
You, unknowingly, have shown one of the problems Christians have with the Mormon theology and religion, their reliance on a works-based religion, masquerading as some form of Christianity.
And though some would take that as a slam on Mormons, it is not. I have the highest respect and regard for how Mormons choose to live their lives in the general sense and some of my best friends throughout my life have been Mormons, however, that does not mean their theology is acceptable in the eyes of God or the bible.

Faith without works is like a dead body without a spirit. Says so in the Bible, so it must be true.

You’re so right! I also have problems with their attitude towards the Book of Mormon. “If any one adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book” (Rev. 22:18) and “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed” (Gal 1:8).

There is also a difference between in-state and out of state Mormons. Most of the latter are sincere. Most of the former are so by birth. The difference in behavior is noticeable.
That said, I spent 7 happy years in Logan Utah...
