Tired of life with her cabinet-maker boyfriend of three years, Sibia Martinez wanted him gone.
She was even willing to pay for it -- $200.
Nearly six months after 29-year-old Jose Manuel Matute-Hernandez was found dead in his Davie apartment with two bullets in his brain, investigators arrested Martinez, saying the 21-year-old had her boyfriend killed by a bargain-rate hitman.
Police also on Thursday arrested Cesar Banegas, 24, and accused him of brokering the hit with his roommate, 22-year-old Jose Suarez, who police say shot Matute-Hernandez dead while he sat on his living room couch.
According to the trio's arrest affidavits, the plot to kill Matute-Hernandez began in late February or early March, several months after Martinez ran into Banegas, whom she hadn't seen since middle school.
Here is what Banegas told investigators, according to police affidavits filed by Detective Jeffrey Corns:
Martinez said she would pay to have her boyfriend killed, but Banegas said he would not take the job and did not know anybody who would.
Less than 24 hours later, over a game of cards and a few beers, Banegas mentioned the offer to Suarez, who said ``Tell her I'll do it,'' according to the affidavits.
Suarez wanted his identity kept a secret, so Banegas became the middle man, brokering a deal that would bring Suarez $100 up front and another $100 after he killed Hernandez.

200.00 to murder? Man, the economy IS really bad!
I’m glad I’m single.
200.00? This economy is worse than I thought.
You can’t get good help these days.
Suarez, the hit man, only received $100 and is still waiting to collect the other $100. Will the girlfriend will make good on her promise and pay him the rest?
Doing the killings Americans won’t do.
I dunno, but if he has a written IOU, it is useless, as neither side would dare produce it ;-)
She figured it was cheaper than filing for divorce.
threw it into the ocean
It isn't clear if Suarez received the last $100.
Could he not have sold the gun on the street for $100 and avoid killing someone?
LMAO!
They weren't even married.

There must be... 50 ways to off your lover. 50 ways to off your lover.
Were there some MS-13 wannabes involved in this? One might be willing to do a hit on the cheap to get in the club.
“50 ways to leave your lover”.....uh...don’t think this one made the cut.
I take hints easier than that.
You want me to leave, I’m gone!
