I read here the other day that some teachers in different states say that they were told not to tell parents in the school district when a kid was diagnosed. Have they done that there?

Our local school sent home a letter this week from the Gov'na. According to school policy, if my child has a fever of 100 or higher accompanied with sore throat or cough, I have to keep her home for 7 days or until she is symptom free for 24hrs whichever is longer.

Unless we know for sure it is not the flu, e.g. doctor's statement. We have been advised to plan to make child care arrangements in the event our kids have to be out of school for this duration. If the kids become symptomatic at school, they will be isolated and sent home with a parent ASAP. Some employers have sent communications in response saying that the children cannot be brought to work if they've been banned from school due to illness. lol
