Can’t make up a story like this. Eeeesh.
I accidentally looked her up. Her hubby’s an attorney in Richmond and is an active Democrat donor.
No surprise.

Yeah, I have that problem all the time, invisible dogs, when they sit very quietly they can be in your car and you’ll not even see them.....but maybe the driver was blind and deaf not the dog.
Anyway, moving on, the SPCA forgets and forgives.
No excuses. Book ‘er, Danno...
I know for a fact that this happened to a friend of a friend - someone I have actually met. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer to be sure, but not evil either. I’m always happy when we hit fall, as the potential for this type of thing goes way way down.
Maybe we could look at it differently.
1. 16 year old dog, blind and deaf. It probably had other ailments.
2. Very likely. it should have been “put out of its misery” years ago.
3. Maybe the dog was kept alive, not for the dog’s benefit, but her own. [To my shame, I have done this, myself.]
4. OR, maybe out of a “love for animals” gone to seed, like a little old lady with 100 cats — they end up sick, underfed, unclean...
5. Maybe “subconscious” euthanasia?
